I am honored to have the opportunity to run again for Radnor Township School Board. As the only incumbent on the board seeking reelection, I have first-hand experience and the insight to guide our District through a troubling economy. As the Commonwealth’s mandates increase, and our money decreases, I will continue to find creative and resourceful solutions. Educational excellence is dependent upon elected leaders who are dedicated to the children and taxpayers whom they represent.
For the past 21 years I have been a volunteer in Radnor Township schools. Currently, I assist students new to our country with their English at the Middle School. As a tutor for the Delaware County Literacy Council, I lead an adult ESL conversation group at the Radnor Memorial Library twice a week.
I have been on the board of the Radnor ABC House, the manager of a Radnor Soccer Club team, and a three-term president of the West Wayne Civic Association. All four of my children have been educated in the Radnor Schools. The youngest is a sophomore at Radnor High School. My husband and I have lived in Radnor Township for 26 years.
Rob Armstrong graduated from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania, in 1989. He received an M.A. in Communication Management from the Annenberg School at the University
of Southern California. Rob worked as Senior Financial Analyst at Entercom, a radio conglomerate based in the area, where his work
included financial analysis, information technology, and operations, for over 100 radio stations, with revenues in excess of $400 million. Rob has been a stay-at-home parent for the past eight years. He lives in Bryn Mawr with his wife and two daughters. His eldest daughter attends Ithan Elementary where Rob is the PTO Treasurer.
Rob Armstrong will be a strong advocate for fiscal discipline. He is dedicated to maintaining the reputation and leadership position of the Radnor School District. Rob believes that the current economic environment poses many challenges to our District. These challenges will require a steadfast commitment to our goals of excellence in student education and achievement, while being
responsive to the Radnor Township community’s need for prudent management of their tax dollars. Leadership now requires a reassessment of District practices, to ensure that we are attracting and retaining the finest teachers, making the best use of new technologies, and promoting a well-rounded curriculum that delivers a superior education. A non-partisan dialogue is required to meet our many challenges. All members of the Radnor community have an interest in the success of our schools. Strong schools make strong communities.

teacher.
Doug and his wife Julianna have 2 children: Elizabeth is a 2007 RHS graduate and Christopher attends RHS.
In these very stressful times, we have no resources to waste. I welcome constructive individual and community initiatives in District activities. I am a good listener and appreciate constructive and even critical comment because an open process builds support for good decisions and improves those in process. We are an able community and the Board
must encourage and welcome active public participation if we are to increase quality and productivity. I will strive to enhance the quality of a Radnor education while maintaining an open and
accountable relationship with our students and community.
